  • Bo and Lauren taking on a case together

What Made Kris Happy

  • I thought the episode was really pretty, cinematography-wise.
  • Alycia saved herself!
  • People speaking their truths, and not just because of the Oracles

What Made Stephanie Happy

  • The music, especially “Tell It Like It Is” by Aaron Neville
  • Seeing male/male sexuality on the show, but really I just thought that scene between Mark and Vex was pretty good in general

  1. I absolutely love this episode. It made me happy.

I like how Bo, Dyson & Lauren’s relationship has evolved. It was Dyson who thought that Bo should stay and protect Lauren.

I loved how the relationship of Bo & Lauren was portrayed, very mature, the dance, the sex scene =)

  2. I thought this was the strongest episode of the season, despite the lighting issues (I too tried adjusting my monitor) and the overly abundant exposition.

    1. The Lauren/Bo dance/sexytime scene was lovely, though bittersweet, overshadowed by the acknowledgement of Lauren’s mortality/shorter lifespan. Bo’s comment that she wished they could lie there forever was heartbreaking, especially coming from a character who has mostly been portrayed as living in the moment (I think this is partly where her “obliviousness” comes from, i.e. she’s thinking about the present moment and not how the moment – or her actions at that moment – might effect events/people in the future.) Lauren almost seems to break at Bo’s statement, but then she reins it in and decides to just “be” – a nice role reversal for these two characters.

    2. Bo and Tamsin’s scene at the end was also heart-wrenching, though in a different way. Whether one is the heartbroken or the heart-breaker, this kind of discussion is always painful and I thought both actresses put in a wonderful performance. I found Anna’s to be particularly nuanced – she goes from not wanting to hurt Tamsin, to understanding she already has, to trying (weakly and – I agree with Tamsin – rather patronizingly) to make excuses, to finally realizing just how much she’s underestimated Tamsin’s feelings – all in a short span of time. I think even Bo wasn’t really buying the roomates/colleagues excuse by the end and I’m hoping that we will see a more mature Bo in the future – one who is better capable of balancing her hedonistic succubus side with her human side which craves deep and honest relationships with her family, friends, and lovers.

    3. I’m really liking Alycia as a new character and I’m hoping that we get to see the relationship between her and Dyson develop more. She is reminiscent of Ciara – strong and capable – and we all know that Dyson loves women who wield knives/other sharp objects. I always thought that his friendship with Kenzi – and now his friendship with Lauren – offers up the best sides of Dyson and I think he would benefit even more from having a romantic relationship with a human. And now that Kenzi is gone (at least for the time being) we definitely need another human in the mix to help balance out the gang. With the exception of he-who-must-not-be-named *cough* Massimo *cough*, all the recurring humans have been women; I’m not sure that this means anything necessarily, it’s just something I noticed.

    4. I agree – Fake Mark is better than Real Mark. At first I thought maybe he was going to turn out to be an incubus rather than a shifter and that his powers started manifesting during the storm – hence the wine room scene. Not sure that Real Mark would be into Vex, but I would definitely not be opposed to seeing a sexual/romantic relationship between the two. It’s about dang time we had a recurring male same-sex couple on the show!

    1. I had the same thought about Mark potentially being an incubus when the keg room scene started!

I’ve been thinking about Lauren’s somewhat lack of response to Bo’s statement that she wished they could lie there forever. A look does pass over Lauren’s face that seems to indicate something and I think you may have hit the nail on the head as to what.

  3. 1) I loved Lauren wielding that axe. I loved that is was Lauren who actually did the action instead of just giving information/technical/Medical talk.
    2) Lauren and Bo Dancing, having sex and after sex cuddles. (though it was all too short but I will take what I can get)
    3) Bo telling Tamsin that she loved her but not romantically (in that way). It broke my heart [edited: comments do not conform to commenting guidelines]

I loved this episode… someone mentioned that we had not really seen a sex scene yet with Bo… well, while it wasn’t long, I think we can definitely say Doccubus fans got the “sex” scene and mainly because it was a vehicle to put Tamsin in the know that Bo loves Lauren.

I knew we would get a few Annie squees out there and it was good to hear her in happy voice as compared to last week. I was listening to it on Monday after I had seen the new episode and knew that this episode would make Annie, myself and all the Lauren/Bo fans very happy.

Great work on the podcasts, ladies…. love to listen to ya.

    1. I’ve seen a lot of conflicted feelings about the sex scene, and many people who like Bo and Lauren calling it bittersweet. They’re happy to see Bo and Lauren together, but sad that it hurt Tamsin so much.

I wonder if there is another Bo/Lauren “reunion” sex scene in store for this season.

  4. I completely agree with Stephanie – the Aaron Neville song choice was an epic win. It made the dance, which was already amazing, 100 times better.

My favorite moment of the entire episode was when Bo said: “I wish we could lie here forever.”

Poor Tamsin, that speech at the end was heartbreaking.

  5. Am I the only one who is super worried about the next episode ? Bo and Lauren kissed and made up so now I’m worried all HELL will break loose. Happiness on Lost Girl does not last long.
